AL BOCCALINO, the cozy family bed and breakfast, is located in the heart of Melide in a traditional, old Ticino house. You can find us just a few steps from the lake promenade on Lake Lugano.Quiet yet centrally located. We are off the main road and only a 5-minute walk from the train station or the well-known Swissminiatur. The motorway exit is also very close.
​The AL BOCCALINO offers nine comfortable guest rooms. Each room has been furnished with great attention to detail according to the “at home with friends” principle, creating a unique, inviting atmosphere.Our house is ideal for holiday guests, families and working people. Also an ideal starting point for hikes or tours by bicycle or mountain bike.

In addition, our guests with the Ticino ticket receive free travel throughout the canton of Ticino on public transport such as trains, buses and postbuses. We offer our guests free parking spaces just a few meters from the house.

Breakfast buffet
A sumptuous breakfast buffet awaits you, to be enjoyed in the former wine cellar with its fireplace or outside under the idyllic pergola. A diverse selection of fresh and delicious breakfast items will energize you for the day. Whenever possible, we source organic and regional products. We are happy to accommodate your dietary requirements, such as vegan, lactose-free, or gluten-free. Please inform us in advance.
And into the cup goes Ferrini coffee, freshly roasted from Lugano.
Ticino ticket
The tourist tax of CHF 4.20 per day/person includes the fantastic Ticino Ticket, which offers free travel on all public transport (train, bus, postbus) throughout the canton of Ticino, as well as many discounts on attractions and mountain railways.
Enoteca: The Love for wine
We personally select and are delighted to recommend our wines. End your day with a glass in our cozy outdoor area, accompanied by cheese, olives, and salami – or on your room's balcony.
Of course, we also sell our wines on site or here in the shop.
Fragrant care products
We place great value on sustainability and natural products. Our bathrooms are equipped with high-quality natural products from the Swiss family business HEIDAK.
Look forward to the refreshing kick and stimulating aromas of rosemary, sage and peppermint, pansy, calendula and heartseed.

For children sleeping in their parents' bed, only breakfast (CHF 16) will be charged.

The breakfast buffet costs CHF 16 per person, unless it is already included in the agreed price.

Pets are welcome. Please mention this when making your reservation. We kindly ask for your consideration during breakfast. Alternatively, we can reserve a table for you in the bar area.

Check-in: Please let us know your arrival time. Our rooms are generally available from 2:00 PM. We are personally available until 7:00 PM. A later check-in is no problem. Just let us know.

Check-out: Rooms must be vacated by 11:00 AM. Luggage can be stored at reception by prior arrangement.

Cancellations & Changes: Cancellations made 3 days prior to arrival are free of charge. Short-notice cancellations and no-shows will be charged 100% of the price of the first night.
